The IVTC students and the IVTC coordinator have been working hard preparing for this “IVTC Tutors Thank You Event”. But they were not alone in the planning. All students’ parents joined them to have a nice dinner for the IVTC Tutors. The Friendship Manor Conference Room was prepared for this Event. Colorful table clothes and Happy-Face balloons were distributed all around. Our IVTC kids were joyful thinking in the surprise dinner that they and their parents will have for those people that week after week, throughout the year, came to our IVTC Center to help them with their scholastic needs. Our IVTC kids learned to love the IVTC Tutors!

But they were not the only ones with joy. Their parents were very busy at the kitchen preparing the plates with a delicious food: two different type of tamales, tinga, mole, salad, beans, rice, etc, etc.

The event started with our IVTC kids reciting some poems that will show their gratitude to our tutors. Then, all together recited another poem to simply say ‘Thank You Tutors’. Then the IVTC Coordinator showed a movie that depicted many different moments at the IVTC. Meanwhile the tutors were watching the movie, all parents started serving the food. When the movie finished, the IVTC Coordinator prayed the give thanks for the food and then parents came to sit among the tutors and they were immersed in many different conversations.

Towards the end of this event, Ms.O, as the IVTC kids call the Coordinator, and the IVTC kids called each 2008-2009 tutor to receive a present that was prepared by our kids. Then, all parents, one by one, came to the front to express their gratitude to our tutors. What a joy was to see them with tears in their faces, explaining to our tutors how thankful they are for the HELP their kids received from them. One of the parents said: ‘I will never NEVER forget your help to my children’.

Then when all the tutors left the place, and the parents were getting ready to leave, they were around Ms.O and one of them said: ‘This was a successfull event, but we want to say big THANK YOU to Ms.O for doing all of this with our kids.

Thank you IVTC Tutors! Thank you Ms.O! Thank you IVTC kids! Thank you IVTC parents!
