About Us

Vitamin distribution, innoculations, diabetes screening, mammograms: services SBCDC brings to those in Isla Vista unable to pay for traditional health providers. In addition to health services, SBCDC provides food to the hungry and clothing to those with little to spare.

Perhaps the most rewarding service is the tutoring program, which is helping dozens of young people move from struggling to excelling. The children are mostly those whose parents are not native English speakers, and, therefore, have little or no help in completing their homework.

A non-profit Public Benefit Organization, the SBCDC began as an outgrowth of the work of four local Covenant churches and the Pacific Southewst Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
